Yesterday, I provided 11 of my tried-and-true weight loss strategies for anyone out there who wants to shed a few pounds.
Today, I want to tell you about two more methods because well...I forgot to put them on yesterday's list.
12. Intermittent fasting
In addition to not eating within three hours of bedtime, I also take a large gap between the final meal of the day and the first meal of the next day. Intermittent fasting, as it's known, is just a fancy term for limiting one's eating window.
I typically eat dinner around 5:30-6:00 p.m. Then, I don't eat anything again until approximately 7:00 the next morning. I usually fast for 13-15 hours, which works for me. Some people take it even longer! My recommendation? Hit double digits and you're good.
13. Never use a shopping cart
Disclaimer: This one only works if you're shopping solely for yourself.
I go grocery shopping every Sunday, stocking up on all the fruits, veggies, meats and other essentials that I need for the upcoming week. I bring 3-4 reusable grocery bags with me, filling them with everything I need while I'm at the store.
My philosophy? Buy only what you can carry. Anything more than those bags is just too much food, more than I can eat in one week. Plus, by carrying the bags, they essentially become two dumbbells by the end of the shopping session! Another great way to find a workout in everyday life.
That final point is key.
You don't always have to go to the gym for a workout. Find the opportunities for exercise in everyday life and you can get a bunch of mini-workouts in during the course of a day.
