build good habits TODAY.

build good habits TODAY.

Build good habits now.

Today, not tomorrow.

Your entire future depends on it.

As we get older, it becomes harder and harder to establish new behaviors. We get stuck in our ways. We’re less open-minded. We struggle adapting to new situations.

So if you want to be the best possible you 20 years from now, then you must lay the foundation today.

If you’re not reading consistently at 22, your 41-year-old self probably won’t either.

If you’re not exercising daily at 26, then 38-year-old you -- who only works longer hours and has more on his plate than ever -- likely won’t make exercise a daily practice.

If you’re not preparing healthy meals now, then a sudden mid-life diet change sounds a bit far-fetched.

And on and on.

If you really want to establish good behaviors in your life, then you can’t waste any more time. It will only get more difficult.

So start now. Identify good, healthy habits you’d like to adopt. Think of some ways to work them into your day. Once you figure that out, then it’s on you to execute.

You are what you repeatedly do, Aristotle said. And you don’t get better at something by not doing it.

These habits won’t come naturally. The journey will be difficult. It might be lonely.

But it’s everything.

Put the hard work in now so that in 16 years, you’re not even thinking about reading or exercising anymore. One day, these habits will be a non-negotiable part of your schedule, something that no job or family member will be able to take from you.

That’s the goal. That’s the dream.

Let’s build toward it today.
