the beauty of being single.

the beauty of being single.

We think we need someone else to make us happy.

We don’t.

If you have a significant other, congratulations. That’s amazing. Beautiful.

There’s no feeling quite like that of another human being fully embracing you and accepting you for who you are.

But if you don’t have that person, please understand that you’re perfectly whole without someone else.

For as beautiful as love is, it’s equally beautiful to be on your own.

Independence. Self-reliance. Self-sufficiency.

The essential ingredients of happiness.

So as a young person, you need to figure yourself out first.

Who are you

What are your interests? Hobbies? Hopes and dreams? Fears and ambitions?

Go out to eat alone. See a movie by yourself. Experience the world around you in solitude.

Because for true love to truly work, you must cultivate self-love first.

That self-love comes only from a considerable amount of time spent alone comforted by nothing but your own thoughts.

Eventually, once you know yourself, you’ll begin to love yourself. Only at that point can you know what you want in someone else.

Once you get there, you won’t stand for anyone who fails to meet your standards, which will save you from the heartbreak and toxicity that so many relationships result in.

Be patient. The right person will enter your life at the right time.

Until then, enjoy independence.

It’s one of the most coveted feelings in the world.
